Magnolia blossoms are balanced with a masculine black background in this sophisticated Champagne Press suite. To create this luxurious invitation, owner Julie Chaet used a thick cotton cardstock with gold foil stamping, an embossed seal and gold thread to tie it all together. “It’s something different—bold and striking,” says Chaet.
Deep Water
Slate-gray watercolor adds a dramatic edge to a classic invitation by Jill Elaine Designs. The clean serif font keeps the suite simple, while the tonal palette exudes a dreamy aura—which was exactly what this couple wanted. “I love watercolor because it’s so versatile, the perfect way to add something memorable to your suite,” says owner Jill Elaine.
Falling for Florals
“A lot of people think of floral invitations as a spring or summer thing, but floral is just as beautiful for fall wedding invites,” says Gretchen Berry of Gretchen Berry Design Co. She designed this romantic suite for a September wedding and countered the dainty floral design with dark gray, muted purple and lavender. The cohesive design makes the suite unique, says Berry: “Each piece could stand on its own.”
Something Blue
A moody blue floral design accents this elegant suite designed by Kate Panke, owner of Paper Rock Scissor. Hand-lettered calligraphy complements a strong serif font in this modern design. Clean, minimal invitations with touches of floral are an emerging trend, Panke says. Darker florals convey the intimacy of an evening wedding, and add a unique vibe to traditional invitation design.
