{1} Preppy meets modern sophisticate in this whimsical invitation by Antoinette of Minneapolis-based Paperista, with colors as vibrant as the spring wedding at Cowles Conservatory at the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden. Bright nature in an urban setting, reflecting a blend of the couple’s styles, inspired the cheerful artwork and textured paper.
{2} The bold colors in this invitation by Amy Mills of UNIQLOVE capture the mid-century feel of the Sinatra era, with touches of gritty and cool, and give guests a taste of the event to come. With motifs based on architectural details in Dallas’ Belmont Hotel, where the couple got married, the vibrant palette also captures their personality.
{3} Imagine, for a moment, getting married on the same day, at the same place, as your sibling. Sound crazy? Not for the twin grooms behind this bright orange invitation. Designer Christine Lien loved the challenge of incorporating information for both couples in one invite. The famous decorative tiles of Catalina Island, where the double wedding was held, provided the starting point for the bold, geometric design.
{4} A good designer is always up for a challenge. When Ashlie Kalkofen of The Papier Palette was asked to create a never-been-seen before invitation, she had no idea it would turn into such a hit! Now so many couples are requesting her “back pocket” design in which the RSVP card, directions, etc. are tucked inside a pocket on the back of the formal invitation, that’s she’s working on getting it patented.
{5} It’s no surprise that a Minnesota bride commissioned these Twins-themed invitations by Dick & Jane Letterpress. Big baseball fans, the couple wanted to show their team spirit with faux tickets for a post-honeymoon party at the new Twins stadium, complete with a perforated stub for a keepsake; the numbers on the bar code mark the date of the event.
