Grooming trends are on the rise for men, especially when it comes to their big day, according to some local experts at MartinPatrick 3 in downtown Minneapolis.
The first big trend seen by the shop’s Chavis Vasquez is fragrances. He says fragrance can act as its own “memento box in a bottle” and considers curating a signature fragrance for couples as a powerful way to capture the fleeting moments of the wedding milestones.
Chavis Vasquez's Fragrance Recommendations:
Oud Satin Mood by Maison Francis Kurkdijan
Any Day Now by ALTAIA
One Umbrella by Two from Floraïku
Gris Charnel by BDK Parfums
Second on the list is skin care. Todd Fliginger of MP3 thinks that all men are—or should be—starting to care more for their skin. According to Fliginger, grooms are using products such as exfoliants, face wash, toner, eye cream, moisturizer and sun block. He notes that some grooms are even deciding to use cosmetics on their wedding day.
Chavis Vasquez's Grooming Product Recommendations:
Truefitt & Hill Pre-shave Oil
Aesop Purifying Facial Exfoliant Paste
Jack Black Beard Oil
Proraso Moustache Wax
Bumble and bumble Surf Spray
Hair is a whole different ballpark, but a big part of men’s grooming trends all the same. Sofi Kushnir from MP3’s in-house barber shop Marty’s says that popular styles include clean fades with length and curl on top. But there’s also an increase of grown-out, shoulder-length hair.
Sofi Kushnir's Hair Care Recommendations:
Bumble and bumble Sumotech
Oribe Cream for Style
