Invitations are Going Green

1} Simple and Sweet
With a minimalist design and color scheme, this invitation suite by Katie Murphy of Katie Murphy Design & Stationery exemplifies the “less is more” aesthetic. The client wanted a clean, simple invitation with watercolor eucalyptus and a green and gray palette, says Murphy, so she created this piece with custom-painted botanicals that whimsically offset the bold fonts. This suite was digitally printed, but the design lends itself to whatever your preferred printing method might be.

2} Pretty as a Peony
Formal and elegant with a touch of fun was the goal for this suite, designed by Sarah Glad of A Milestone Paper Co. The design was printed on natural eggshell cardstock and features gorgeous greenery and light pink peonies that tied in perfectly with the couple’s wedding décor. Adding an unexpected twist to the classic suite, Glad used bold navy icons to indicate the entrée choices.

3} In Frame
The Minnesota couple behind this lovely suite came to Gina Peterson of Ginger P. Designs seeking invitations for their Jamaican destination wedding that weren’t “too beachy.” To set the tone, Peterson created a watercolor greenery frame that wraps around the couple’s names written in elegant script, with the wedding details in traditional gray serif font.

4} Photo Op
Brian Durk of Dick & Jane Letterpress went above and beyond for this contemporary suite. Durk hand-picked greenery from the trees outside his shop, then styled and photographed it before printing the shots onto soft-finish cotton-fiber paper. Complementing the natural background, luxe gold lettering is foil-stamped onto the invite for a modern look that stands the test of time.
