Taylor Curley, creative director for the Simply Elegant Group, is a big believer in pink, especially as a neutral to showcase texture and detail. Curley mixed this subtle shade with rose gold and marble to create a fresh, refined feel, for elevated sophistication. “This couple,” she says, “embraces the idea that less is more.”
Dreamy Drinks (Above)
Re-create the Copper Hen’s picture-perfect Strawberry Hen cocktail for your event—or at home.
Ingredients
1 oz. Far North Spirits Roknar
1 oz. bourbon of choice
½ oz. elderflower liqueur
½ oz. fresh lemon juice
¾ oz. strawberry syrup (recipe below)
½ oz. honey simple syrup
1 egg white
Pour all ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously for 30 seconds; strain out ice. Shake again for 30 seconds. Pour into a coupe glass, sip and enjoy.
Strawberry syrup: Combine 2 c. sugar, ½ c. sherry vinegar, 1 pint fresh strawberries (stems removed), 1 pinch kosher salt, 1 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice. Blend all ingredients in a food processor on medium for 3 minutes.
Foiled Again
The top tier of this cake by the Copper Hen is gilded in edible 24-karat gold leaf. The inside is just as flashy, with champagne baked into vanilla cake for a fluffy, unexpected flavor.
Flower Power
Artemisia Studios used peonies, garden roses, astilbe, jasmine vine, roses and ranunculus for this ultra-romantic bouquet.
First Place
A tone-on-tone white foil marbled border on the place cards matches the envelope liners in the invitation suite created by Paper Rock Scissor.
To the Letter
“The invitation was extra-large to add elegance,” says Paper Rock Scissor designer Kate Panke. She used a black vellum overlay with rose-gold foil and a rose-gold string to add dimension and texture to the appealingly soft and simple invitation.
Set in Stone
Gold flatware, glass plates and rose-colored votives from Linen Effects create an elegant place setting. The marble charger is Curley’s own—“I loved the texture of the speckled plate with the marble and the pale-pink blush linen.”
