Hannah Aylward first saw Shane Burcaw on a YouTube documentary about the nonprofit he ran. She was impressed with his quick wit, humor and accomplishments. It also didn’t hurt that he was being interviewed by actor Rainn Wilson, who played Dwight Schrute, Hannah’s favorite character on “The Office.” She sent Shane an email to introduce herself, never dreaming she was emailing her future husband. Two months of texting and FaceTime calls soon became monthly visits. “Very quickly we fell in love,” Hannah said. Geography didn’t stall their relationship. After two years long-distance, Shane moved to Minnesota to be with Hannah. The Van Dusen Mansion’s historic charm and dark wood accents were “exactly what we were looking for,” Hannah says, and harmonized perfectly with the blush, white and green florals. The day was full of unforgettable moments but one stood out. “Our first look was such a joyful and emotional moment that we absolutely loved,” Hannah said. They allotted three hours before guests arrived to be together and to spend time with the bridal party — Shane’s brother and Hannah’s best friend. A big surprise, arranged by their event designer, Revel and Flourish, was a personal video message from Rainn Wilson — especially appropriate since “The Office”-themed décor was incorporated throughout the wedding. The celebration was complete with mini-desserts and a s’mores station, a favorite of the couple.
